A special honour

most 15.07.2022 Christel Ahrens was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany!

It was in the spring that Christel was surprised by the announcement, that she will be awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. This award is given to people, who have made a special contribution to the community. Out of modesty, Christel hesitated a bit at first and had to get used to the idea first, for their actions, both in Podo e.V. and beyond, to receive such great recognition.

Finally, she invited some friends, relatives and companions, to celebrate this day with her. After District Administrator Axel Flader and Mayor Kerstin Speder had given laudatory and, above all, heartfelt speeches, we then continued in a smaller group.

Christel describes her life as learning, Recognizing and also perceiving limits. She took us invitees into this process and also into her perception with the beautiful image of a song with ever new verses, that the fundamental tone, the supporting tones, but also the beautiful decorations come from their Christian faith.

We wish her, that they have the other verses of the (Living-) song with a lot of confidence and joy and congratulate once again on this well-deserved honor!
